Khalid started his professional career as a stockbroker with Merrill Lynch in London in 1997 dealing in stocks, bonds and mutual funds.
In 2001, he joined Salisbury Associates as a Corporate Finance Projects Supervisor and was responsible for the management of investment campaigns including:
- British Telecom’s (“BT”) Rights Issue generating Pound Sterling 5.9 billion and the de-merger of BT into BT Group and mmO2 (2002)
- Marks & Spencer’s return of Pound Sterling 2 billion to shareholders and the creation of a new holding company ‘Marks & Spencer Group PLC’ (2002)
Khalid returned to Saudi Arabia in 2003 and joined the Investment Banking Division of Gulf International Bank (“GIB”) in Riyadh. Khalid successfully completed over USD 100 billion of transactions acting as advisor and arranger to private sector and government entities in KSA including over USD 75 billion in IPOs in the Saudi market alone.
