1:1 School Nurse (RN)

Requirements

• Bachelor of Science in Nursing preferred.
• Active Washington state or compact RN license in good standing.
• Certification: CPR/BLS.
• Prior experience in school nursing, pediatrics, or home health preferred.
• Ability to provide medical oversight during bus transportation.
• Strong assessment and critical thinking skills.
• Excellent communication and documentation abilities.
• Comfortable working with high school-aged students.
• Physical ability to meet job demands (e.g., standing, sitting, lifting up to 40 lbs).

Job Description:

Contract through the 2025/2026 school year 22.5 to 30 hours per week. Contract follows the academic district calendar.

Key Responsibilities:

• Deliver 1:1 care tailored to the high school students specific medical needs.
• Provide supervision and support during transportation on the school bus.
• Administer medications and monitor any changes in condition.
• Support students access to education by promoting health and safety in the school environment.
• Maintain accurate and timely nursing documentation.
• Collaborate with school personnel, parents, and medical providers.
• Implement and follow the Individualized Health Plan (IHP) or Emergency Care Plan (ECP).
• Provide health education and guidance to students as appropriate.
• Respond calmly and effectively to medical emergencies.

Salary:

Total per week: $1,200 - $1,350
