Local Facility Chaplain

The Local Facility Chaplain for Florence, AZ provides comprehensive religious support onsite. The chaplain ensures that detainees of all faiths have access to worship, study, pastoral care, and religious accommodation.

Key Duties

1. Lead worship services, religious education, and holiday observances for detainees.
2. Provide pastoral counseling and spiritual support across diverse faiths.
3. Conduct weekly rounds in all housing units, including medical and restrictive housing areas.
4. Recruit, train, and coordinate volunteers and contractors.
5. Serve as primary onsite religious point of contact for ICE staff and detainees.
6. Remain available 24/7 for emergencies and physically report onsite within 120 minutes if called.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Religion, Religious Studies, or Theology plus 5 years of ministry experience, or 10 years of ministry experience without a degree.
• Demonstrated experience in detention/correctional settings.
• Knowledge of multiple religions (Judaism, Islam, Christianity, Hinduism, Rastafarianism, etc.).
• Bilingual (English/Spanish) required.
