WHAT YOULL BE DOING:

The Director of Political Sales will lead, develop, and support a team of Political Account Executives (AEs). This leader is responsible for driving revenue growth, ensuring flawless client delivery, and elevating Ampersands position as the goto multiscreen partner for political advertisers. This role requires expertise in political advertising cycles, strong analytical skills, and the ability to mentor sellers in a fastpaced, highstakes environment. The Director will serve as a strategic partner to agencies, affiliates, and internal teams, ensuring that Ampersands unique data, insights, and addressable footprint translate into winning media strategies.

HOW YOULL BE CONTRIBUTING:

  • Supervise, coach, and develop a team of Political Account Executives, ensuring they meet and annual revenue goals, foster agency relationships, and continuously educate clients on Ampersands market advantage.
  • Ensure AEs execute highquality, targeted strategies for political geographies using Ampersands data and planning tools.
  • Monitor AE product knowledge and identify training needs on multiscreen, addressable, and digital opportunities.
  • Review and refine AE sales pitches, media plans, and proposals as needed to ensure value, accuracy, and competitiveness.
  • Maintain strong alignment with affiliates and political leadership on top accounts, major races, and team feedback.
  • Ensure AE participation in ongoing development of Team Leaders and Sales Coordinators.
  • Drive consistent communication, integrity, and credibility across all agency and affiliate interactions.
  • Foster a collaborative, accountable, growthoriented team culture.

WHAT YOULL BRING TO THE TABLE:

  • 6+ years of media sales experience, including significant time in political advertising or political agency environments.
  • Strong leadership presence with excellent coaching skills.
  • Ability to translate data and insights into clear, actionable sales strategies.
  • Exceptional communication, presentation, and relationshipbuilding skills.

The base salary range below represents the low and high end of the Ampersand salary range for this position in Washington DC. Please note that the salary range provided is a good faith estimate on the applicable range. Actual salaries will vary depending on factors including, but not limited to, experience and performance.

Salary Range Transparency

This role has a base salary of $115,000-$130,000 and discretionary variable compensation.
