divh2Elevator/Conveyor Support Technician/h2pValkyrie Enterprises has an immediate need for an Elevator/Conveyor Support Technician who will be a key support to the ongoing project in San Diego California./ppWork includes removal, maintenance, repair, overhaul, assembly, installation, alignment, troubleshooting, modifying, and testing of ships elevator and conveyor mechanical and electrical systems and components including vertical package conveyors, dumbwaiters, cargo and weapons elevators, and medical personnel evacuation emergency platforms./ppUtilizes standard mechanics tools, torque wrenches, micrometers, dial indicators and other precision measuring instruments, fixtures, portable machine tools, and various gauges in the removal, maintenance, repair, overhaul, assembly, installation, alignment, and testing of shipboard elevator and conveyor equipment, components, and subassemblies./ppCompletes functional checks, tests and analysis, fault detection and formulate required corrective actions./ppProvides assessments or certification inspections which include but are not limited to: Elevator and Conveyor, primarily onboard PACFLT Ships and MSC ships./ppRead, interpret, and understand technical references, data, and specifications; ship drawings; equipment technical manuals; blueprints; schematics; and sketches./ppIdentify materials and parts requiring replacement on equipment, components and subassemblies./ppMust have a High School diploma or equivalent./ppMust have at least 3 years of work-related experience performing condition assessments, diagnostic inspections, fault isolation and repairs on the following systems: Elevator/Conveyor mechanical systems on US Navy and Coast Guard ships./ppMust have interpersonal skills needed to interface, coordinate with company personnel, customers, and outside contacts./ppMust have the ability to read schematics and blueprints./ppMust have the ability to read technical manuals and repair standards./ppMust have the ability to read, interpret, and follow detailed written instructions, MRC cards or drawings./ppElevator Conveyor Experience is preferred./ppMust be able to obtain and maintain a DBIDS./pp10% Travel Required./ppIf position requires travel by domestic flight or access to secure federal facilities/military bases, candidate must be able to obtain (by start of position) and maintain appropriate identification credentials./ppAbility to lift, carry and transport equipment and boxes. The exact weight requirements will be determined by the specific job./ppAble to work on and climb ladders, work in extreme temperature environments, aboard ships, in shipyards, under industrial conditions and in confined spaces. Able to perform other duties as required which may involve high heat, humidity, noise and dirty conditions, working aloft or over the sides of vessels./ppValkyrie strictly adheres to a policy of equal employment opportunity.
