Job Title: Industrial Designer
Job Description
We are seeking an innovative and creative Industrial Designer to support the design of innovative and differentiated product solutions and customer experiences. This role involves working cross-divisionally, encouraging broad exploration of ideas and concepts to lay the foundation for current and future product launches. The successful candidate will lead all aspects of the concept development and experience design process, including design research, innovation strategy, product and experience design, prototyping, user testing, collaboration with varied disciplines, and supporting products through commercialization.
Responsibilities
+ Lead the industrial design process from concept development through product commercialization.
+ Collaborate with UX designers to define interaction and usability goals.
+ Partner with internal clients to craft concept development strategies and project plans.
+ Leverage user insights to develop compelling problem statements and set design objectives.
+ Advocate for design best practices while engaging with internal development teams.
+ Create visual assets and physical prototypes for use in user testing and feedback sessions.
+ Continue refinement and implementation of the visual brand language.
+ Effectively convey ideas, design concepts, and prototypes to development teams and stakeholders.
+ Collaborate with engineering teams to evaluate technical feasibility and commercialization approach.
Essential Skills
+ Industrial design and concept development experience.
+ Proficiency in CAD Modeling with SolidWorks.
+ Experience in user experience design, preferably in the appliance or consumer product industry.
+ Expertise in plastic molding.
+ Bachelor's or Master's Degree in Industrial Design, Product Design, or Mechanical Engineering.
+ Five plus years of professional design and/or engineering experience.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
+ Experience in rapid visualization methods such as hand sketching and concept model making.
+ Experience working with CAD modeling software including advanced surfacing techniques.
Work Environment
This position is onsite, requiring presence 5 days a week and involves significant cross-functional communication. The role includes a 10% travel requirement to user centers for customer training. The work environment is highly collaborative, focusing on continuous innovation and user experience enhancement
Job Type & Location
This is a Permanent position based out of Apex, NC.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $120000.00 - $140000.00/yr.
10% Bonus + Pentair Premium Benefits.
Workplace Type
This is a fully onsite position in Apex,NC.
