Position Overview
As a Structural Steel Estimator, you will be responsible for preparing accurate cost estimates, performing take-offs, and supporting the bid process for commercial structural steel fabrication and erection projects. Your efforts will directly impact company growth and your own earning potential through commissions.

Key Responsibilities

Review construction drawings, specifications, and bid documents for accurate take-offs and estimates.

Calculate material, labor, fabrication, and erection costs for structural steel projects.

Work closely with project managers and detailers to ensure complete and competitive bids.

Collaborate with suppliers and vendors to secure current pricing and identify cost-saving opportunities.

Maintain organized bid logs and estimate files to track opportunities and submissions.

Assist in change order pricing and project cost analysis as needed.

Qualifications

3+ years of experience in structural steel estimating or a related construction estimating role.

Strong ability to read and interpret structural and architectural drawings.

Experience with take-off and estimating software (Bluebeam, Tekla, or similar preferred).

Knowledge of AISC standards and steel fabrication/erection processes.

Strong math skills, attention to detail, and organizational abilities.

Motivated and self-driven with the ability to manage multiple bids and meet deadlines.
