Are you passionate about providing outstanding patient service in a surgical care environment? We are looking for a Physician Liaison and Scheduler to support our Division of Cardiothoracic Surgery. As a Physician Liaison and Scheduler , you will play a vital role in coordinating care, enhancing communication, and improving the patient experience. The Physician Liaison and Scheduler will act as a key point of contact between patients, referring offices, surgical teams, and administrative staff.

Responsibilities:

  • Serve as the primary point of contact for patients, families, and referring physicians regarding upcoming cardiothoracic surgeries.
  • Coordinate with the Cardiac Surgery Service Line and adult surgery schedulers to ensure accurate and timely scheduling of surgical procedures.
  • Support the Division Administrator and work closely with the surgical care team to streamline workflows and enhance communication.
  • Manage physician schedules and maintain accurate documentation in the EMR (EPIC preferred).
  • Ensure all pre-operative documentation and patient instructions are complete and organized.
  • Communicate effectively with internal departments and external offices to relay surgical planning details.
  • Respond to patient inquiries with professionalism, clarity, and empathy.
  • Provide administrative support including data entry, report generation, and follow-up correspondence.

Job Requirements:

Education : High school diploma or GED required.

Experience :

  • Prior experience in a healthcare scheduling or administrative support role.
  • Experience with EMR systems (EPIC strongly preferred).

Skills & Abilities :

  • Excellent customer service and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong multitasking abilities in a fast-paced clinical environment.
  • High attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Competent in Microsoft Word and Excel.
  • Comfortable performing repetitive tasks with consistent accuracy.
