We are currently seeking a talented and driven Senior AI Engineer to join our Advanced Intelligence Group (AIG). The AIG will focus on exploring ways to utilize AI within Lummus Technology to empower our business units and fundamentally transform how our company operates. This position will work directly with our world-class experts in process engineering, design, and project management to solve their toughest challenges. Key Responsibilities
  • Partner directly with business and engineering leaders to understand their core challenges and translate those needs into technical specifications for AI solutions.
  • Design, build, train, and deploy a wide range of machine learning and generative AI models to solve complex problems.
  • Develop and manage the data pipelines required for our AI systems, ensuring data quality and readiness for model training and inference.
  • Integrate AI models into existing Lummus business applications and workflows using APIs and other services to create seamless user experiences.
  • Fine-tune and evaluate large language models (LLMs) and vision models on our proprietary data, with a focus on performance, accuracy, and IP security.
  • Own the full lifecycle of AI applications, from initial prototyping and experimentation to deployment, monitoring, and continuous improvement.
  • Foster innovation by researching new techniques and technologies to stay at the forefront of the rapidly evolving AI landscape.
Skills, Knowledge & Expertise
  • Bachelors degree in Computer Engineering or other engineering discipline, Mathematics, Data Science, or a relevant field.
  • Minimum 8 years of experience in computer or software engineering.
  • Proficiency in Python and its data science ecosystem (Pandas, NumPy, others).
  • Strong experience with ML frameworks such as PyTorch or TensorFlow.
  • Strong experience building modern GenAI stacks.

Additional Qualifications:

  • Experience in processing engineering, chemical, or related industries.
  • Experience with advanced agentic concepts like multi-agent systems or complex planning techniques.
  • Expertise with our key partner platforms, including Microsoft Azure, Databricks, or Google Cloud (Vertex AI).
  • Experience with big data technologies (like Spark) and a strong understanding of both SQL and NoSQL databases.
  • Ability to drive change management around AI.
  • Ability to communicate well about complex topics.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
