Structural Steel Fabricator
Location: Grand Rapids, MI Shift: 2nd Shift Monday - Friday 4:00 pm - 3:00 am Pay: $20.00 per hour

Are you a motivated and detail-oriented individual looking for a new opportunity? We’re seeking a Structural Steel Fabricator to join our team in Grand Rapids, MI. In this role, you’ll be a vital part of our operations, helping us build high-quality structural steel components used in commercial, industrial, and large-scale construction projects.

As a Structural Steel Fabricator, your core responsibilities will include:

• Fabrication & Assembly: Fabricate, fit, and assemble structural steel components according to blueprints, weld symbols, and project specifications.
• Equipment Operation: Set up and operate fabrication tools such as saws, shears, ironworkers, punch machines, and overhead cranes.
• Welding & Layout: Perform MIG and Flux-Core welding, complete accurate layout work, and ensure proper alignment and fit-up of assemblies.

In addition, you will also be expected to safely use cutting torches and grinders, verify measurements, follow all shop safety guidelines, and support material handling when needed.

• Previous experience in structural steel or metal fabrication required
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints, fabrication drawings, and weld symbols
• Proficiency in MIG/Flux-Core welding (Stick welding experience a plus)
• Ability to operate overhead cranes, forklifts, and fabrication machinery
• Strong understanding of shop math and accurate measurement techniques
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and stand for extended periods
• Welding or fabrication certifications

• Technical Accuracy: Essential for performing precise layout, welding, and assembly to meet quality and structural requirements.
• Mechanical Aptitude: Needed to safely and effectively operate fabrication machinery and power tools.
• Team Collaboration: Important for coordinating with supervisors, welders, and fellow fabricators to meet production goals.
