Having played a pivotal role in shaping the future direction of the Saudi National Bank Group in his role as Vice-Chairman of the Board of Directors and member of the bank’s Executive Committee, Mr. Rashed Sharif was appointed to the role of Chief Executive Officer and a member of the Board of Directors of SNB Capital in February 2021. Mr. Sharif brings with him a wealth of experience gained in the Capital Market sector, having previously served as the Head of Listing Department at the Capital Market Authority (“CMA”) for the period 2006-2013, then as Head of Investment Banking Division and later Chief Executive Officer in one of Saudi Arabia’s other prestigious Capital Market Institutions, before his most recent role as Head of Local Holding Investments in the Public Investment Fund (“PIF”) from 2017 – end of 2020. He has also served as a member of the Board of Directors in numerous companies, including some of Saudi Arabia’s most prominent and admired companies – the Saudi Electricity Company, Saudi Telecom Company and Saudi Basic Industries Corporation (SABIC). Mr. Sharif holds a Bachelor’s degree in Finance from King Fahd University of Petroleum and Minerals and a Master’s of Business Administration from Prince Sultan University. He has completed a number of executive development programs including “High Performance Leaders” and “High Performance Boards” from IMD.
