Job Summary:

As a Barista at Scooter's Coffee in Mount Vernon, you will be the face of our passionate and dedicated team specializing in delivering high-quality, hand-crafted coffee drinks. This position offers competitive pay starting at $11/hour with opportunities for bonuses through tips. Your primary focus will be ensuring an outstanding customer experience while preparing a variety of espresso-based beverages and food items from our menu. A strong attention to detail, adherence to food safety standards, and commitment to a clean and inviting environment are essential aspects of this role. Key Responsibilities:

    • Customer Engagement: Greet each customer warmly, fostering a welcoming atmosphere.
    • Answer questions and share knowledge about our coffee and menu offerings to enhance customer experience.
    • Process customer orders and payments efficiently and accurately.
    • Food & Beverage Preparation: Prepare and serve espresso-based drinks in accordance with Scooter’s detailed recipes.
    • Ensure food safety and cleanliness by maintaining a sanitary work environment at all times.
    • Restock workstations and merchandise to maintain operational efficiency.
    • Cash Management: Handle cash transactions and reconcile the cash drawer at the end of shifts per company policies.
    • Team Collaboration: Work cohesively with team members to ensure seamless service delivery.
    • Communicate effectively with colleagues to promote a positive work environment.
    • Store Maintenance: Regularly clean and sanitize the store, ensuring a tidy and pleasant atmosphere for customers.
  • Education:
    • High School Diploma or GED preferred.
  • Experience:
    • Prior barista or customer service experience preferred.
    • Familiarity with coffee preparation and food handling procedures is advantageous.
  • Skills:
    • Exceptional customer service skills with a focus on creating positive experiences.
    • Strong attention to detail to ensure high-quality beverage preparation and cleanliness.
    • Ability to manage cash and perform accurate financial transactions.
    • Effective communication skills and ability to work well within a team environment.
  • Additional Requirements:
    • Must be able to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays.
