Job Description

Our client, a leading organization in the automotive manufacturing and logistics industry, is seeking a dedicated Packaging Engineer to join their dynamic team. As a Packaging Engineer, you will be an integral part of the Packaging Department supporting cross-functional teams. The ideal candidate will demonstrate strong analytical skills, proactive problem-solving abilities, and excellent collaboration skills, which will align successfully within the organization.

Job Title: Packaging Engineer

Location:  Hayward, CA (fully onsite)

Pay Range: $56 per hour

What's the Job?

  • Maintain and audit packaging integrity and labeling compliance for inbound components according to specifications.
  • Develop and enhance packaging documentation, including drawings, data, and photographs, to support compliance and continuous improvement.
  • Collaborate with Production, Logistics, QA, SQE, SSMs, and Packaging Engineering teams to implement new packaging processes and manage changes effectively.
  • Support packaging strategy development for existing components and new product introductions, focusing on cost savings, quality, and logistics improvements.
  • Investigate packaging damage issues, track compliance, and propose actionable solutions to optimize logistics and manufacturing processes.

What's Needed?

  • Associates Degree in Packaging Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Logistics Engineering, or equivalent industry experience (1-2 years).
  • Experience with logistics operations, supply chain management, SAP, and automotive manufacturing processes.
  • Knowledge of expendable/returnable packaging, shipping labeling, lean manufacturing principles, and warehouse processes.
  • Familiarity with CAD software and technical drawings.
  • Understanding of automotive development, robotics, and warehouse automation systems.
