Job Description\n

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for an Operating Room position requiring strong ortho and endoscopy skills and previous travel experience.

\n \n Responsibilities\n

• Position is in an acute care hospital operating room
• Covers a variety of surgical cases including ortho (total joints, sports medicine, hands, trauma), general, gyn, c-sections, and endoscopy
• Work schedule is Monday through Friday, 8-hour day shifts, typically 07:00-15:30
• On-call required: typically 4 weeknights per month and one full weekend per month
• Call response time is 30 minutes
• Unit features 4 operating suites plus 1 endoscopy suite, averaging 8 cases per day
• Epic EMR used for documentation; experience with TDOC and ProVation (for endoscopy) preferred
• No scrubbing required for RN; CSTs and orderlies assist with room turnover
• All OR personnel assist with cleaning and turnover of operating rooms
• Will be paired with a preceptor and receive five days of unit-specific orientation focused on department protocols and system values
• Holiday call coverage may be assigned if applicable during the contract period
• First-time travelers will not be considered
• Permanent employees must be away from the facility for one year before eligibility for a travel assignment
• Block scheduling or special schedule requests are not accepted
• Blue scrubs provided per surgical services attire policy; OR shoes required

\n \n Requirements\n

• Active ID or compact RN license required at time of consideration
• Minimum 3 years of recent OR nursing experience
• Strong orthopedic surgical background required
• Endoscopy experience or c-section experience required
• Current BLS certification required; ACLS recommended
• Previous travel nursing experience required
• Two professional references: one supervisor from within the last 12 months and one peer or supervisor from within the last 3 years
• Copy of driver's license required
• No local candidates within a 50-mile radius
